Abstract
In today's world, the concept of identity, as one of the most important factors in shaping the personality and behavior of individuals, plays a vital role in individual and social development. Individual, social, political, and cultural identity each has a certain impact on the way an individual interacts with the environment, values, and beliefs, and educational and training processes play a key role in shaping and strengthening these dimensions. Universities, as the main centers of education and training, play an important role in this path, and in the meantime, Islamic education courses, as part of the curricula, have a significant impact on the process of students' identity formation. This article aims to examine the role of Islamic education courses in giving students identity and analyzes the effects of these courses on various dimensions of identity. In the first section, the concepts of individual, social, political, and cultural identity are explained in detail and their importance in the process of educating and developing personality is examined. Then, the role of Islamic education courses in strengthening students' values, beliefs, and cultural and social identity is analyzed. In addition, the impact of these courses on the formation of political identity and individual attitudes in the face of societal challenges and current issues is examined. Next, the challenges and opportunities in the process of teaching Islamic education to strengthen students' identity are evaluated and solutions for improving this process are presented. The results show that teaching Islamic education can play an effective.
