Designing a competency model for human resource managers of a military organization

Abstract
Aim: The present study seeks to develop a competency model for human resource managers of a military organization.

Method: To achieve the goal of the research, at first, using the library method, the available literature was studied, including the competency models of managers in government and military organizations, as well as the top documents of the considered military organization. In the following, by using the studies and investigations and setting up the interview protocol, an in-depth interview was conducted with 10 experts of the military organization, and coding was done, and a theme analysis baroosh, theme network was formed.

Findings: After implementing the interview texts and analyzing them, 181 basic or primary codes were counted as basic themes (indexes). In the next step, 37 organizing themes (components) were determined by categorizing the primary codes, and finally, by classifying these Themes, 9 learning themes or final competence (after) were obtained.

Conclusion: The final result of the research was the calculation of the model of competence of the managers of a military organization, which include: ability to plan and make decisions, personality traits, communication skills, performance management, moral-value skills, people management, professional skills, organizational skills and intellectual-mental characteristics.
